ON Charlie Rowlands is a long-term quizzer, first appearing on University Challenge in 2014 representing Manchester University, then challenging the Chaser Jenny “The Vixen” in 2017.
At the start of January, Charlie finally got his revenge on the Vixen by beating 5 out of the 6 Chasers to win a huge jackpot.
Having earnt a degree in Genetics and Chinese, which included a research placement in China, then a PHD in Bioinformatics from Manchester, Charlie now works at the Institute of Cancer Research as a Bioinformatician, focusing on inherited cancer risk.
