Harshini, or Shini, Muthukrishnan, was announced back in January as the 43rd presenter and on her debut episode was shown earning her all-important Blue Peter badge by braving a series of stomach-churning aeronautic stunts.

Described by Mr Biggins has “very personable and polite, and incredibly smiley”, Shini threw herself fully into school life here at Haberdashers’ Adams. She was part of Darwin House and was Deputy School Captain on the Front Team. During her time here, Shini was awarded the Banks Cup for Female Sixth Form role model of the year and received the Thomas Arno fund to help her travel to Hong Kong to teach and care for young boarders at a school in her GAP year before going on to study Philosophy, Politics & Economics at King’s College London.

Shini has also become a popular influencer on TikTok, making videos talking about her Indian and Malaysian cultural heritage.

She follows in the footsteps of fellow ON from 2005, Radzi Chinyanganya, who presented Blue Peter from 2013 until 2019 and has gone on to present a variety of productions including Olympic sports coverage, snooker, Crufts and Songs of Praise.
