Ways to donate

Our Pavilion Campaign

Our sports pavilion at Longford was originally built in the early 70s but was no longer fit for purpose. Thanks to the generosity of our ONs and parents, match funding from the DfE and a loan to complete the work we were able to complete the Pavilion as we were coming out of lockdown and named it after former games teacher, Lynn James, who was in charge of physical education and games at Adams’ from 1963 until 1986. Sadly, he died at the early age of fifty-two while refereeing a First XV match at Longford.

Now, it is a facility to be proud of - our teams have a warm and comfortable place to shower, change and gather, and they no longer feel embarrassed when hosting teams from other schools.

In 2021, we also launched a "Buy a Plaque" campaign in 2021 - offering Adams' community members the chance to purchase a personalised plaque to be displayed on the main wall of the hospitality area. This is a perfect memento for a former pupil who has enjoyed being part of the sporting heritage at Adams.

You can purchase your plaque by selecting "Buy a Plaque" in the "Ways to Donate" bar above or downloading an information leaflet here

Preserving Our Heritage

We are proud to house a wide selection of archive material, some dating back to our school's foundation in 1656. While a curated selection is displayed in our archive room near the Big School Library, the majority resides in a secluded, albeit dusty, attic space.

We are excited to begin the process of digitising and sharing these archives. We've partnered with SDS Archives to scan some of our collection, which you can view under the “Archives” tab on our Alumni portal. However, this is a slow process due to budget constraints.

You can help accelerate this project by making a small donation to our “Preserving our Heritage” fund. Your contribution will directly support the preservation, digitisation, and sharing of our photos. You can even specify the type of archive you'd like your donation to support—whether it's sponsoring your year, rugby photos, or drama memorabilia.

To donate, select "Make an online donation" above and select the "Preserving our Heritage" fund.

Play the School Lottery!

The 100 club has unfortunately had to close because of circumstances beyond our control. We still wanted to have a way that we can raise funds for the school in a sustainable and affordable way, so we set up a weekly lottery with an organisation called "My School Lottery". You can buy as many tickets as you like, and your numbers are put into a draw from the within the school's participants, which is 30% of whatever is raised. There is also a chance of winning a nationwide draw prize of £25,000. The school receives 40% of the total amount raised each week. This extra funding has supplied the school with equipment such as new library furniture, a batch of digital chess clocks and orienteering markers which have improved the school experience for our pupils.
