ONs Dominic Cook and George Tavernor (Class 2018) completed the Great North Run at the weekend to raise money for Diabetes UK – raising over £1000!

Diabetes UK supported Dominic following his recent diagnosis of Type 1 diabetes. They provide advice on living with the condition and carry out research to find the causes, new treatments and technologies to make living with the condition easier.

Training for an endurance event such as the Great North Run (a half-marathon) is made harder by having to manage blood glucose and insulin levels to stay within the safe range, which makes the achievement even more impressive!

You can still sponsor Dom and George (Team Domabetes) on Just Giving.
