ONs Battle it out in Varsity Matches

Mr Mulhern with both David and Will

At the weekend, Cambridge and Oxford Universitys met in their annual rugby clash at StoneX stadium in London. This was a particularly important match for Haberdashers' Adams because we had an ON playing on each side.

David Holdroyd was in Webb House and left in 2019  to study Medecine at Cambridge. He is now in his final year so this was his last appearance on the team.

Will Roddy from Talbot House left Adams in 2023 after being School Captain in his final year. This was his first selection for this match.

Mr Mulhern went down to watch them both and caught up with them.

After a closely-fought game, Cambridge came back from behind in the final minutes to secure a 35-28 win. Will Roddy was awarded Man of the Match for his two tries and excellent performance.

Meanwhile, another ON represented Cambridge in the Varsity Hockey match at Southgate Hockey Club. Toby Homes from Owen house (formerly Clive) played in goal on Sunday 9th of March, keeping a clean sheet to secure a 3-0 win for Cambridge.
