James left Adams in 2022 and went on to the University of York  to study Economics and Finance.

He recently took part in an international event called “The 2024 Southeastern Hedge Fund Competition”  for which twenty-eight student teams from universities around the world submitted hedge fund strategy proposals to a panel of investment professionals.  The competition "offers participants the opportunity to apply theory to practical strategies".

As James's team came within the top five globally, they were invited to Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University, Atlanta to pitch their strategy. The York team, named "Minster Investments" came third which won them a scholarship prize to share.

James has hit the ground running at University and also joined the University of York’s student-led “Griff Investment Fund” as a financial analyst in September 2023 and has recently been appointed Chief Training Officer on the executive committee.

He is keen to embark on a career in equity research or asset management and is looking for an internship for the summer in these areas. Any ONs that would be able to assist with this can contact him through the portal.
