The trustees of the Memorial Trust, set up by veterans from the school after World War I, have recently commissioned the school's History Department to write a book about Old Novaportans and members of staff who have served in the armed forces.
Adams has a long and proud history of Old Novaportans who have gone on to serve in HM Armed Forces, and Head of History, Matthew Skeate would love to hear from anyone who has served and who would be willing to share their stories for the book.
Matthew says: "I am very excited by this opportunity to provide a record of service which spans several decades. Having already done a dissertation on Adams and World War I, I'm particularly interested in gathering information on World War II, the 50s and onwards, including ONs who completed National Service and ONs who have served more recently, so please do get in touch with your news by sending me an email in the first instance."
Matthew can be contacted by email: matthew.skeate@adamsgs.uk
We were thrilled to discover Old Novaportan Lt. Colonel Oliver Denning of the Royal Marines being interviewed recently by Forces TV whilst on exercise in Norway as part of Exercise Cold Response. Olly did a great job with just five minutes warning and you can view the feature here.
