Prizegiving was always going to be particularly emotional this year, as we said goodbye to Mr Hickey and Mr Mulhern, but a visit from ON, former Blue Peter Presenter and TV personality, Radzi Chinyanganya, lifted everyone with his inspiring and positive speech to the students. He took time out of his very tight schedule to come and encourage them to "find what makes you glow", and described how much hard work and perseverance he had to put in before getting his break on Blue Peter. He spoke fondly of his time at Adams and of meeting (and interviewing) Mr Hickey live on air as he presented coverage of the Lord Mayor's Parade when Haberdashers' Adams led it on an open-top bus back in 2019.
Radzi had to dash off after his speech as he was filming down south, but he had already secretly managed to record a farewell message in Gary's "Den" at home a few weeks before. The message was played for Mr Hickey's "This is your Life" assembly for staff, family, friends and former colleagues. He paid tribute to him, saying, "You care about every other person around you and the importance of the part they all play".
