The 100 Club is a monthly lottery set up by the former AGSS. Parents and friends of the school pay in £2 a month and are entered into a monthly prize draw with the first prize of £100, second prize of £50 and third prize of £25.
During lockdown, these draws couldn't happen so we have been making the outstanding draws. Many participants have been surprised by cheques in the post over the last couple of months and we are now up to date.
Our next job is to start growing it back to what is was set up for - to not only pay out prizes to people, but to raise vital funds for the school for equipment that betters the opportunities for our students. In the past, the 100 Club raised enough to make a donation to the building of the school’s dedicated Sixth Form and Music Centre and the Lynn James Sports Pavilion. It has also been used to purchase chemistry and photographic equipment, graphic calculators for the maths department, Taiko Drums, hockey goalkeeper kits and netball dresses. Donations have also been made towards the Young Enterprise Scheme, CCF and Marching Band equipment. Never is this more vital than now, when our school budgets are being tightened more and more.
