ON Jack Syder-Mills addresses Economics students.

Jack gave a talk to our sixth form Economics class about the Bank of England.

Jack was invited back by Mr Obeng-Asare to talk to Sixth Form Economics students about his role as Market Intelligence Analyst at the Bank of England where he briefs two committees on issues pertaining to monetary policy (Monetary Policy Committee) and financial stability (Financial Policy Committee).

He spoke about the role the Bank plays in delivering its public mission which involves promoting the good of the people of the UK by maintaining monetary and financial stability. He also touched on the difficulties of doing this in the face of numerous global challenges ranging from pandemics, to wars and political instability.

Jack left Adams in 2016 after taking a broad selection of A levels in History, Chemistry and Economics. He went to Exeter University to study Economics and then onto Tilburg University in the Netherlands for a Masters in Financial Economics.

Prior to his current role at the Bank, he worked for Jefferies and Morgan Stanley as an Equity Research Analyst.
