Reunion News |
Last year, ON Jenny Cann contacted the school about the possibility of organizing a 20-year reunion for her year group – the class of 2004. Super-organised Jenny wanted to get a date in the calendar early to make sure as many people could attend as possible, and her planning paid off!
On Saturday 6th of July, we hosted 32 ONs and 7 current and former teachers for the reunion event. The turnout was slightly affected by the impending England semi-final, but it was lovely to see old friends chatting in the dining hall like they had never been apart. Some people attended via Zoom and were passed around the group on an iPad.
We were very pleased to welcome back Mr. Richardson and his wife to oversee proceedings as well as Peter Chapman, Tom Bate, Rodney Jones and Kev Francis. Matthew Skeate and Rob Mulhern also joined us.
The afternoon started with coffee and school cookies, which were fondly remembered, before meeting the headmaster in Big School Library. Following this, people could choose to stay for the tour, or head off to the pub for the eagerly anticipated football.
Jenny said of her time at Adams “Now, as an adult and educator, I see more than ever how precious and special our experiences were within the safety bubble of Adams. The adventures and misadventures were all part of the process that made us the "adults" gathered here today, and I am so grateful for that time and place in our lives.”
