Haberdashers’ Adams will soon be playing host to a new sport. Pickleball, which originated in America in the 60s, is played on a badminton court and uses a paddle and a lightweight, hard plastic ball which is hit over a low net like tennis.
Pickleball has now been recognised by Sports England and already has clubs in Shrewsbury and Telford so would like to start a group in Newport.
A Pickleball group will be using the Sports Hall on Monday evenings and would like to invite children and adults to come along to a free taster session on Monday 24th February.
The sessions will run each Monday from 6.30pm – 8pm up until exam season after Easter and then into the summer.
