Can you identify this photo?

We are looking for more information about this photo, which is believed to have been taken in 1961. Do you recognise yourself?

An organiser of the Adams School Wem Nostalgia group recently sent in this photo which was at first believed to be of Thomas Adams Wem students as it was found in the North Shropshire Journal newspaper offices in Wem.

They now believe it could be Adams' Grammar Newport so we are hoping somebody can identify the people in the photo and when/why it was taken. The Highway code book is apparently from 1961. Can any of our ONs shed any light on this?

*UPDATE* ON Ray Robinson has been very eagle-eyed and been able to date and identify the people in this photo

He says, "The two boys are Jonathan Hoyland (l believe that was his first name - it’s been a while) on the left, and Rod Anderson (who I’m still in touch with). So they entered first form in 1964. Looking at them they’re probably in third form, which would probably date the photograph to 1966 or 67"
