Welcome back Old Novaportan!
Most of you will have noticed, read, or even copied out “Bill’s Will” in the Big School Library. William Adams founded our school in 1656 as a philanthropic gesture to provide a high-quality education for local boys that could enable them to progress to university.

As a state school, the government covers the basics, but we aim to provide more for our students. This is where support from our school community comes in. A donation to Adams could:
  • Support talented students regardless of background.
  • Maintain and develop our facilities across the curriculums.
  • Help us preserve our heritage.
  • Help us become more environmentally and economically sustainable

Back in 2020, we were able to open a new sports pavilion, named after Lynn James, our former games master who sadly passed away on the playing fields in 1986. The Lynn James Pavilion was funded through a grant from the DofE but a large portion of the money needed came from donations from our alumni and parents and is now a fantastic asset for the school.
